Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She worked later as an anchor for morning news at WCBD TV and also as an investigative reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell was a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. As well as her job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and also contributes to Dateline NBC.
